An Oscar nominated animation from Ireland, which tells the incredible story of The Book of Kells, one of the most important historical documents of all time.
Young Brendan lives with his uncle in the secluded walls of the Abby of Kells. He becomes obsessed with the stories he hears of a yet to be completed book which can turn darkness into light. When Brother Aiden arrives with the incomplete Book of Kells, he hands it over to Brendan for it's completion. Brendan sets off on an adventure into the Irish wilderness, through history, mythology, and most importantly, nature, to find what he needs.
Featuring extraordinary animation and a Hero’s Journey to rival Star Wars, the Oscar Nominated The Secret of Kells has been likened to the best of Studio Ghibli. A feast for the eyes and the soul, The Secret of Kells is an exhilarating animated adventure for children.
