Bangers and mash are served in boxed meals to be eaten in preserved carriages as the steam railway chuffs through 10 miles of Hampshire countryside beside the South Downs National Park. Expect the sights, sounds and smells of steam rather than a formal dining experience, and maybe a bit of soot on your sleeve if you get too close to the window.

This is a self guided experience. Guests collect their boxed meal from the West Country Buffet before boarding. There are no reserved seats so sit wherever takes your fancy; window seats are popular but they also tend to attract gravy splatters.
